Grief in the Workplace
Grief Training for Leaders and Managers
Grief doesn’t end when the funeral is over.
Our training consists of leading grief research that goes far beyond the 5 stages of grief. As a matter of fact, the 5 stages are not factual research and add more anxiety to people when they worry, they’re not “grieving” properly.
Fact: There is no such thing as “grieving” properly”
As leaders and managers in todays fast paced multitasking workplace, you need to understand the full behavioural aspects of how grief affects the grieving.
As a grief expert and educator, I’m hearing the back end stories of how dissatisfied and disillusioned clients are with the lack of understanding and informed support from bosses and colleagues when grieving employees return to work.
- Employees take early retirement.
- Employees within a year have left for a fresh start.
- Employees productivity scales down
- Team cohesion suffers.
- Company and or department culture suffers.
You can support employee response to bereavement in two scenarios:
- When an employee dies
- When an employee experiences the death of a loved one.
Our goal is to help normalize the conversations around death and dying by supporting leaders with research, knowledge, and tools to best support your grieving employees.
